Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we hear most from dry eye patients, answered plainly.
Because most drops treat the symptom, not the cause.
Artificial tears can bring brief relief, but the majority of dry eye is driven by blocked oil glands, inflammation, or poor tear quality. Until the underlying cause is found and treated, the dryness keeps coming back. Our evaluation is built to find that cause.
Most patients describe it as a warm snap, like a light rubber band, and very tolerable.
OptiLight IPL is a gentle, in-office light treatment. There’s no downtime, and most people return to their day right away. Dr. Noh will walk you through exactly what to expect beforehand.
It depends on the cause and severity of your dry eye.
Some therapies are a single visit; others, like IPL, are typically a short series. After your evaluation, Dr. Noh will give you a clear, individualized plan, with no guesswork and no open-ended commitments.
Coverage varies by plan and by treatment.
Some diagnostics and therapies are covered; several advanced dry eye treatments are not routinely covered by vision or medical plans. We’ll always be transparent about cost before any treatment so you can decide with full information.

We provide compassionate care with plenty of time with the doctor, and we’ll help you plan a visit that makes the trip worthwhile. See our out-of-town patients page.
Use our secure referral form, and we’ll return the patient to your care.
We take the ocular-surface cases you don’t treat, diagnose and treat them, and send the patient back to you. Start on the Refer a Patient page.
